rendezvous

october 29 2009
time: 3 p.m.
yesterday afternoon i met a person who was a blend of perfect qualities in a perfect amount. i walked in with a smile and ended the conversation with a smile and a sense of satisfaction n eagerness to learn more and more. the conversation comprised of.. more of laughter and more of sensitivity towards the society we live in. sometimes we are caught so much in our turmoils that we forget that there are more of less fortunate people in our society. we are more lost in our own social network that we don't think of prevention and cure of the pest prevailing around us. we are happy to see ourselves satisfied. i don't want everyone to be social workers or leave their priorities and jobs in life.and its not the job of our politicians to mend things or to improve things..its our responsibility too. giving 30 minutes of your day is not going to cause you any loss. give your 30 mins to anything..choose any cause..you want to plant a tree..go ahead plant it.you want to teach an illiterate basic things..go ahead. you want to spend time with someone..go ahead. in today's world we have just forgotten to give..all we know is..how to take. i have seen my close ones crying over things and going into depression..for what reason..look at people who are underprivileged, handicaps, with some dysfunction..your pain is nothing in comparison to theirs.
few days back i was with my mom in a rehab center..bionic rehab..we were there to show mom's leg problem. i was sitting with a magazine in hand reading a shobha de article on the condition of women in south africa..every day you will find at least seven or eight reported rapes a day. Most victims are underage kids.and she was sharing her conversation with a crime novelist whose dad was a pediatric surgeon..and most of the surgeries he performed/s are on the little girls..their private parts…. to reconstruct torn vaginas..how ridiculous can things get. its so disturbing..that the poor child has to undergo so much of emotional trauma plus the pains of the blade. why can't people be more civilized. just when i was reading this..i saw a rick in front of the door, and in that rick there was a lady with no legs..with two kids around her..i saw a kid walking with his legs twisted in the sitting area..right across my eyes was a poster of a boxer with prosthetic right leg and right hand..a dancer with a prosthetic legs. its so disturbing at times to see all this..and it is motivating at the same time..its sends or develops a will to do something in life..to do something that can change things in a better way..to give..n to keep on giving! i met such a person yesterday who is visionary, who believes in giving and so strong.. to give his best to the society..listening to him itself made me realize that when we can think of so many idea to bring in a change..why do we take so much of time to implement it. i feel bad on my part..that i keep on thinking about all this..but i myself fail to implement things i want to do. simple things like learning sitar..why can't i start implementing !i want restart going to the sunday school, but what am i waiting for! the conversation i had with him was so interesting that it went on for more than an hour..and it was so good to meet him..we keep on blaming the people in the society for being this or that..but sometimes we fail to look at people who actually are humane and so focused in giving their services. i have met people before also who have contributed a lot for the society..but never so close!
there is so much going around us..we need to wake up!
anyways..
signing off for now..
take care!
drive safe!
ciao!
